Vocational training

Training duration: 3½ years

Area of work: Coatings laboratory technicians work in the development and manufacture of paints and coatings. They examine the components, create new formulations, test innovative raw materials for their suitability and use chemical and physical analyses to monitor the raw materials used in production. They help develop new treatment and application processes and conduct experiments on adhesion to substrates and durability. Trainees also work with paint strippers and binders, substrate preparation and the impact resistance of coatings.

Training duration: 3½ years

Area of work: Chemical plant operators control and monitor production facilities in the chemical industry. They prevent faults before they occur or rectify them immediately. The training covers chemical and physical fundamentals as well as microbiological working techniques. Chemical plant operators independently maintain the machinery used for these processes.

  • Monitoring readings such as pressure, temperature, flow rate and other physical parameters

Training duration: 2 years

Area of work: Machine and plant operators work in a variety of production sectors, for example in companies in the chemical industry.
